OAKLAND, Calif. -- Golden State Warriors coach Mark Jackson asked his players a simple question during Fridays morning shootaround: How many of them had ever been on a team 14 games over .500? Only veterans Jermaine ONeal, Steve Blake and Andre Iguodala raised their hands. With so many home games remaining, the opportunity in front of the Warriors is rare. Golden State took another step forward Friday night by easing past the Atlanta Hawks 111-97 for its third straight win. "Were chasing greatness," Jackson said. "Were not going to be satisfied. Were going to continue to try to chalk up Ws, continue to battle and continue to celebrate where we are as a basketball team. Its a great time. And if nobody else knows it, we know it." David Lee had 18 points and six rebounds, and ONeal came off the bench to add 17 points and eight rebounds to lift the Warriors (39-24) a season-high 15 games over .500 with a relatively smooth win. Iguodala and Stephen Curry each scored 13 points to help Golden State build a 66-52 halftime lead and go ahead by 20 in the fourth quarter. The Warriors, fresh off a 4-2 road trip, are 8-2 since the All-Star break and beginning to look like the team that roared to the second-round of the playoffs last year. "Ive been 15 under in New York a bunch of times and when I first got here," Lee said. "It says a lot about the direction this organizations headed that were breaking through and reaching goals like that." Paul Millsap had 16 points and seven rebounds after missing the last five games because of a bruised right knee for the Hawks, who have lost five straight. Mike Scott added 14 points and DeMarre Carroll and Jeff Teague scored nine points apiece as Atlanta continued its late-season slide. The teams traded baskets for most of the first half until the Warriors put together a 12-1 spurt in the closing minutes that the Hawks (26-34) never recovered from. "We lost our focus," Atlanta coach Mike Budenholzer said. "We lost our mental toughness at the end of the second quarter and they were able to get out on us to like a 14-point lead going into halftime. That stretch really hurt us." Golden State began a stretch of nine of 11 and 13 of its final 20 games at Oracle Arena. The Warriors want to use the finishing stretch to re-establish their home-court advantage and make a run at the Los Angeles Clippers, who are four games ahead in the Pacific Division. The Warriors, who needed Iguodalas 3-pointer as time expired to beat the Hawks 101-100 in Atlanta on Jan. 3, allowed little drama in the rematch. Draymond Greens 3-pointer capped a run that put the Warriors ahead 97-77 with 6:09 remaining in the fourth quarter. The depleted Hawks, with big men Al Horford and Gustavo Ayon out for the season, never seriously challenged. The only major setback for the Warriors came when shooting guard Klay Thompson limped to the locker room six minutes into the first quarter with a strained lower back. He did not return for precautionary reasons, the team said. Thompson has been Golden States most durable player the past three years. He has played in a franchise-record 211 straight regular-season games to start his career. Jackson said Thompson couldve started the second half, but there was no reason to with the Warriors in control. Millsap moved Atlanta within four early in the third quarter, but he had little help inside. Golden State led 85-77 entering the fourth quarter before pulling away. "We got away from what weve been doing," Millsap said. "Its kind of tough to lose that discipline, especially when youre on the road." NOTES: Curry has made at least one 3-pointer in 51 consecutive games, the longest active streak in the NBA after Kyle Korvers league-record 127-game streak ended in Atlantas loss at Portland on Wednesday. But what do we know of this years Giants roster? Who is the most talented? Who is the biggest joker? And who is most likely to cry at a film?We caught up with Giants superstar wide receiver, Odell Beckham Jr, and asked him to dish the dirt on his team-mates... VOTE: Who leads week 10 choice? Theres a clear favourite for the late NFL game, but the 6pm race is still wide open - have your say Most naturally talented?Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. And a guy who I think is surprising a lot of people, who is naturally talented, is Sterling Shepard. Theyre probably the two most naturally talented guys - Dominique is a freakish specimen; a 6 foot 2 cornerback, he can move, with a 40 inch plus vertical leap. Sterling is a smaller guy but is still a real natural talent nonetheless; a phenomenal athlete. Wide receiver Sterling Shepard has impressed in his rookie season with the Giants Who is the best trainer?Hardest worker on the team is probably Eli Manning. He comes to work every single day; mentally or physically - hes prepared every single time. He has been doing that ever since he stepped in the building.Biggest joker in the team? Eli Manning (R) is the biggest joker on the Giants team according to Odell Beckham Jr Eli Manning is actually a bit of a prankster too. He goes under the radar, as people dont expect him to have the sense of humour he does but he is one of the biggest jokers. There was one time where we were having a casual conversation; he was telling me about how hed been to the dentist and asked if I have any fillings, and asked to see them. I went aaaah to show him and then he threw some turf in my mouth. Im not going to try to get him back; I like him throwing me the ball, so Im going to keep him on side! Watch NOW TV Watch Sky Sports for just £6.99. No contract. Worst taste in music?Ryan Nassib is up there. Hes not really a fan of hip-hop like me. But actually, maybe Im being a little unfair - some of the offensive lineman have the worst taste in music. They tend to stick together, always playing country music, although I do hear a song I like every now and then.Messiest eater? New Yorks offensive lineman have both the worst taste in music and are the messiest eaaters One of the big guys upfront in the O-line again.dddddddddddd They always end up with barbecue sauce on their face or crumbs on their shorts. I dont really like to watch them eatMost intelligent?Eli Manning again. It takes a lot to a good quarterback in the NFL, and he is always mentally prepared. One example I can remember was against the Miami Dolphins last year. We put in a slant-and-go route that Sunday, on the day of the game on the advice of Eli. Sure enough we used it in the game, and it went exactly the way he said it would happen. It ended up being a big play for us.Sorest loser?Probably me. I hate losing. I dont care what it is; I dont like to lose at all, so I try my best to avoid it. Odell Beckham Jr and Josh Norman clashed during the Giants defeat to the Washington Redskins Most likely to turn pro at another sport? Can I say me again? Realistically it would be baseball, but I would love to play soccer - and Im pretty good at it too. I would be a forward, for sure, like Cristiano Ronaldo. I love watching him play, hes a freak! I love all sports so its hard for me to just pick one. It was hard enough when I had to give up playing the other ones in order to excel at football. Most likely to cry at a film?Theres no real soft soul; everybody puts on a bit of a tough front. Id have to watch The Notebook with them all and see if I can spot who tears up first! Odell Beckham Jr plans a team viewing of Ryan Goslings The Notebook to see who cries Worst room-mate?Not a worst, but I have a best room-mate, as we get to choose. Last year I got to room with a guy Im very close to, Brad Wing. That was a lot of fun, because when youre on those road trips, in the hotel late at night, you need someone who you can bond and connect with.Best at Madden? We have some gamers on our team, but probably Brad Wing again. He has taken everybodys lunch money!
